Job Overview
Letterkenny University Hospital is seeking a dedicated Clinical Nurse Manager 1 (CNM1) to join its Emergency Department team. This is a key leadership role focused on delivering high-quality patient care, supporting nursing staff, and ensuring efficient clinical operations in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining standards, improving patient outcomes, and contributing to service development.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership and supervision within the Emergency Department
- Ensure delivery of safe, effective, and patient-centred nursing care
- Support and mentor nursing staff to maintain high professional standards
- Coordinate patient flow and resource allocation within the department
- Maintain compliance with HSE policies, procedures, and clinical guidelines
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and audits
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient care
- Assist in staff training, development, and performance management
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registered General Nurse with active registration on the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
- Minimum relevant clinical experience in an acute hospital setting, ideally within emergency care
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills
- Strong communication, organisational, and decision-making abilities
- Commitment to continuous professional development
- Experience in quality improvement and clinical governance is desirable
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary Scale: €57,208 – €67,372 per annum (based on HSE pay scales and experience)
Contract Type: Permanent Wholetime or Specified Purpose Wholetime
