Join the Health Service Executive (HSE) at the Regional Hospital Mullingar, a leading acute care facility in the Dublin Midlands Health Region. We are currently seeking five Clinical Nurse Manager 1 (CNM1) professionals to join our Paediatric Inpatient Ward, supporting high-quality, family-centred care for children and adolescents.
About the Role
As a Clinical Nurse Manager 1 in the Paediatric Inpatient Ward, you will play a key leadership role in coordinating nursing services, supporting staff development, and ensuring the highest standards of clinical care. This is a permanent, whole-time position with opportunities for professional growth and contribution to paediatric excellence within a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and support nursing staff within the Paediatric Inpatient Ward.
- Ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and evidence-based nursing care to all patients.
- Oversee day-to-day clinical operations and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Contribute to policy development, clinical governance, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Mentor and develop nursing staff through supervision, education, and appraisal.
- Maintain accurate documentation in line with HSE policies and procedures.
- Ensure adherence to infection control, risk management, and patient safety standards.
Required Qualifications
Essential
- Registered Nurse (Children’s Division) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Demonstrated depth and breadth of experience in paediatric nursing, particularly in inpatient or acute hospital settings.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
- Proven ability to manage and motivate a team in a busy hospital environment.
Preferred
- Experience as a CNM1 or equivalent leadership role within paediatric services.
- Postgraduate qualification in management, leadership, or paediatric care.
- Familiarity with HSE clinical governance frameworks and quality assurance processes.
