Cork University Hospital is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Manager 2 to lead Perioperative Ward 4B in Wilton, Cork. This Clinical Nurse Manager 2 Cork opportunity offers a dynamic leadership role within a busy acute hospital environment, supporting high standards of perioperative patient care. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in clinical governance, team management, and service development.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional and clinical leadership within Perioperative Ward 4B.
- Manage and support nursing and multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, effective patient care.
- Ensure compliance with HSE policies, procedures, and clinical standards.
- Oversee workforce planning, rostering, and resource allocation.
- Promote a culture of quality improvement and patient safety.
- Participate in audit, risk management, and service development initiatives.
- Support staff education, training, and performance management.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registered General Nurse with current registration on the NMBI register.
- Minimum of 5 years post-registration experience, including relevant perioperative experience.
- Previous management or supervisory experience at CNM1 level or equivalent.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
- Strong knowledge of clinical governance and quality assurance frameworks.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
- Salary scale: Clinical Nurse Manager 2 (Grade Code 2119) – €62,078 to €78,443 (LSI) per annum (as per February 2026 consolidated HSE pay scales).
