The Clinical Nurse Manager 2 Dublin role offers an excellent opportunity to join the Health Protection Surveillance Centre (HPSC) within Public Health; Health Protection. This permanent position plays a vital leadership role in supporting national health protection strategies, surveillance, and infection prevention initiatives.
Based in Dublin 1, the successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of high-quality nursing leadership within a national framework, supporting both current operations and future service development.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership and operational management within Health Protection services
- Support national surveillance, infection prevention and control initiatives
- Ensure compliance with HSE policies, procedures, and professional standards
- Supervise and support nursing and multidisciplinary team members
- Contribute to service planning, audit, and quality improvement programmes
- Promote evidence-based practice and professional development
- Participate in national initiatives within the National Health Protection Office
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registered Nurse with active registration on the NMBI register
- Minimum experience requirements in line with Clinical Nurse Manager 2 grade (2119)
- Demonstrated leadership and people management skills
- Experience in public health, infection prevention, surveillance, or related fields desirable
- Strong organisational, communication, and analytical skills
- Ability to work effectively within a national framework and multidisciplinary team
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
- Salary Scale (Grade 2119 Clinical Nurse Manager 2): €62,078 – €78,443 (LSI) per annum (February 2026 scale)

Location & Employer Information
This role is based at the Health Protection Surveillance Centre (HPSC), 25–27 Middle Gardiner Street, Dublin 1.
The position sits within the National Health Protection Office (NHPO), Public Health; Health Protection. The service plays a key national role in protecting population health through surveillance, preparedness, and response to public health threats.
This opportunity is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants. A panel may be formed to fill current and future permanent or specified purpose vacancies.
