An exceptional leadership opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Nurse Manager 2 / Clinical Midwife Manager 2 – Bereavement & Loss at Cork University Maternity Hospital. This permanent, whole-time post plays a pivotal role in delivering compassionate, high-quality bereavement and loss services within a leading Irish maternity hospital.

This role is open to HSE and non-HSE applicants and offers the chance to lead specialist services that directly support women, families, and multidisciplinary teams during sensitive and complex care journeys.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide clinical and professional leadership in bereavement and loss services
• Manage, develop, and support nursing and midwifery staff within the service
• Ensure high standards of compassionate, evidence-based care
• Lead service planning, audit, and quality improvement initiatives
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient and family experience
• Support education, training, and professional development of staff
• Ensure compliance with HSE policies, governance, and regulatory standards
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Current registration with NMBI as a Nurse and/or Midwife
• Minimum required post-registration experience relevant to the grade
• Proven leadership and people-management experience
• Demonstrated expertise or strong interest in bereavement and loss care
• Excellent communication, organisational, and decision-making skills
• Eligibility to work in Ireland

• Salary Scale (Aug 2025): €61,463 – €77,666 per annum (LSI applicable)
