The Health Service Executive (HSE) is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Manager 2 Clinical Nurse Coordinator for Children with Life-Limiting Conditions to join services based at Regional Hospital Mullingar, County Westmeath. This permanent part-time role plays a vital leadership and coordination function within paediatric palliative care across acute and community settings.

This Clinical Nurse Manager Mullingar post supports a prioritised national service need outlined in Palliative Care for Children with Life-Limiting Conditions – A National Policy (2009), ensuring high-quality, family-centred care for children from birth to 18 years.
Key Responsibilities
• Coordinate and support an efficient, high-quality paediatric palliative care service
• Ensure continuity of care and improved quality of life for children and families
• Plan, implement, deliver and evaluate care for a defined caseload
• Work collaboratively across acute hospital and community care settings
• Act as a specialist resource for health and social care professionals
• Contribute to education and training initiatives with relevant stakeholders
• Support data collection to inform national programme development
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
• Relevant post-registration experience in paediatrics and/or palliative care
• Demonstrated leadership or management experience at senior clinical level
• Strong coordination, communication and multidisciplinary working skills
• Experience working across hospital and community care pathways
• Knowledge of national paediatric palliative care policy and frameworks
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Salary: Clinical Nurse Manager 3 – Night Scale
€70,725 – €79,872 per annum (full-time equivalent, pro rata for part-time)
