Job Overview
The Clinical Nurse Manager 2 Theatre Recovery Cork role at Cork University Hospital offers an exceptional opportunity to lead and develop high-quality recovery services within a dynamic acute hospital environment. Reporting to senior nursing leadership, you will play a key role in ensuring safe, effective, and patient-centred care in the Theatre Recovery Unit.
This permanent HSE position is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants and offers the chance to contribute to excellence in perioperative nursing practice within one of Ireland’s leading hospitals.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional and clinical leadership within the Theatre Recovery Unit.
- Ensure safe, effective, and evidence-based nursing care delivery.
- Manage staffing, rostering, and resource allocation to maintain service standards.
- Promote a culture of quality improvement, clinical governance, and patient safety.
- Support staff development, mentoring, and performance management.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise perioperative patient pathways.
- Ensure compliance with HSE policies, HIQA standards, and best practice guidelines.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registered General Nurse with active registration on the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Minimum required clinical experience in perioperative or recovery nursing.
- Demonstrated leadership and people management skills.
- Strong knowledge of clinical governance and quality assurance frameworks.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- Relevant postgraduate qualification desirable.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
- Salary aligned with February 2026 HSE Consolidated Pay Scales for Clinical Nurse Manager 2 (Grade 2119): €62,078 – €78,443 (LSI) per annum.
