Job Overview
University Hospital Waterford is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Clinical Nurse Manager 3 (Decontamination Lead) to provide leadership in decontamination services. This senior nursing role plays a critical part in ensuring patient safety, infection prevention, and high-quality clinical standards. The successful candidate will lead service delivery, drive quality improvement, and support best practice across the hospital.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and operational management of decontamination services
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control standards and national guidelines
- Lead, supervise, and support nursing and support staff within the department
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives
- Monitor and evaluate service performance, ensuring continuous improvement
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient safety and care delivery
- Manage resources effectively, including staffing, equipment, and budgets
- Support training, education, and professional development within the team
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registered General Nurse with active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
- Significant post-registration clinical experience, including management experience
- Proven leadership and organisational skills in a healthcare setting
- Experience in decontamination services or infection prevention is highly desirable
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and decision-making abilities
- Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement and patient safety
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
The salary scale for this position ranges from €71,432 to €80,671 per annum, pro rata, depending on experience and progression within the scale.
