The Clinical Nurse Manager 3 Organ Donor Manager at Galway University Hospital plays a pivotal leadership role in advancing organ donation services across the West and North West Health Region. Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and clinical leadership for organ donation services across the region.
- Support identification, referral, and management of potential organ donors in line with national guidelines.
- Collaborate with ICU, perioperative, emergency, and specialist teams to optimise donation pathways.
- Deliver education, training, and support to healthcare professionals on organ donation processes.
- Ensure compliance with HSE policies, national standards, and ethical frameworks.
- Contribute to audit, quality improvement initiatives, and service development planning.
- Act as a key liaison between clinical teams, transplant services, and relevant national bodies.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registered General Nurse on the live register maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Minimum experience requirements in line with Clinical Nurse Manager 3 grade criteria.
- Demonstrated leadership experience within acute or critical care settings.
- Strong knowledge of perioperative and intensive care clinical environments.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.
- Proven ability to lead service improvement and clinical governance initiatives.

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary: Competitive pay (aligned with HSE Clinical Nurse Manager 3 salary scale).
Working Hours: Specified Purpose Wholetime contract.
