Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and clinical leadership for organ donation services across the region.
  • Support identification, referral, and management of potential organ donors in line with national guidelines.
  • Collaborate with ICU, perioperative, emergency, and specialist teams to optimise donation pathways.
  • Deliver education, training, and support to healthcare professionals on organ donation processes.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE policies, national standards, and ethical frameworks.
  • Contribute to audit, quality improvement initiatives, and service development planning.
  • Act as a key liaison between clinical teams, transplant services, and relevant national bodies.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Registered General Nurse on the live register maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
  • Minimum experience requirements in line with Clinical Nurse Manager 3 grade criteria.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience within acute or critical care settings.
  • Strong knowledge of perioperative and intensive care clinical environments.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.
  • Proven ability to lead service improvement and clinical governance initiatives.
  • Eligibility criteria as outlined in the official job specification.

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

Salary: Competitive pay (aligned with HSE Clinical Nurse Manager 3 salary scale).

Working Hours: Specified Purpose Wholetime contract.
