Portiuncula University Hospital is seeking a Clinical Nurse Manager II to join its Special Care Baby Unit. This Specified Purpose Wholetime role offers the chance to lead neonatal nursing services in a Level 1 NICU environment. Applicants must demonstrate at least 2 years’ experience in a Level 1 neonatal intensive care unit.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership within the Special Care Baby Unit
• Ensure safe, high-quality neonatal nursing care
• Support and supervise nursing and midwifery teams
• Manage staffing, rosters, and clinical governance processes
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for optimal patient outcomes
• Contribute to service improvement and professional development initiatives

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Registered General Nurse / Registered Children’s Nurse / Registered Midwife with NMBI
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Level 1 neonatal intensive care unit (essential)
• Proven clinical leadership and team-management skills
• Strong communication, decision-making, and organisational abilities
• Commitment to high-quality neonatal care and continuous professional development

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

Grade: Clinical Nurse Manager II (2119)
Salary Scale (1 August 2025): €61,463–€77,666 (LSI)
Contract Type: Specified Purpose Wholetime
Working Hours: Full-time rostered hours, including shifts, weekends, and nights as required
