An excellent leadership opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Nurse Manager II (CNM II) within the Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) at Portiuncula University Hospital. This permanent, whole-time post is suited to an experienced neonatal nurse with proven leadership capability in a Level 1 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in clinical governance, staff development, and the delivery of high-quality, family-centred neonatal care.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and manage nursing and midwifery staff within the SCBU
• Ensure safe, high-quality neonatal care aligned with HSE standards
• Support clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement initiatives
• Coordinate staff rostering, supervision, and performance management
• Promote evidence-based practice and continuous professional development
• Act as a clinical resource and role model within neonatal services
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and senior management
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registered Nurse on the NMBI Register (RNID/RGN as applicable)
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Level 1 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
• Previous leadership or management experience at CNM I level or equivalent
• Strong knowledge of neonatal clinical standards and governance
• Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
• Eligibility to work in Ireland

• Salary Scale (Aug 2025): €61,463 – €77,666 per annum (LSI inclusive)
