Children’s Sunshine Home (LauraLynn) is seeking a dedicated Clinical Nurse Specialist (Children’s) in Palliative Care to join its team in the Munster region. This permanent part-time opportunity offers a meaningful role supporting children with life-limiting conditions and their families across HSE South West.
This Clinical Nurse Specialist Cork role is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants and is advertised under Section 39.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist nursing expertise in children’s palliative care across community and hospice settings.
- Support children with complex, life-limiting conditions and their families throughout their care journey.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams across the Munster region.
- Deliver family-centred care in line with national palliative care standards.
- Contribute to service development, clinical governance, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Provide education, guidance, and support to healthcare professionals and carers.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and participate in audit activities.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registered General Nurse or Registered Children’s Nurse with active NMBI registration.
- Relevant postgraduate qualification in children’s nursing and/or palliative care.
- Minimum clinical experience as required for Clinical Nurse Specialist (Children’s) Grade Code 2626.
- Demonstrated expertise in paediatric or children’s palliative care.
- Strong communication and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
- Full clean driving licence and access to transport (community-based role).
- Eligibility to work in Ireland.
