Galway University Hospitals is recruiting a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) in Oncology (Reference: G11511) on a specified purpose, wholetime contract. This role offers the opportunity to deliver high-impact cancer care within the Saolta University Health Care Group under the Health Service Executive (HSE).

Key Responsibilities
• Deliver specialist oncology nursing care across inpatient and outpatient settings
• Lead, coordinate, and evaluate evidence-based cancer care pathways
• Provide advanced clinical assessment and patient education
• Support multidisciplinary teams in treatment planning and cancer management
• Develop and implement oncology-focused quality initiatives
• Contribute to service improvements, audits, and clinical governance activities
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registered Nurse with extensive post-registration experience in Oncology/Cancer Disease
• Completed, or willingness to complete within an agreed timeframe:
– Nurse Prescribing of Medicinal Products Certificate
– Nurse Prescribing of Ionising Radiation Certificate
• Demonstrated expertise in specialist oncology nursing practice
• Strong communication, leadership, and patient-advocacy skills

Salary Scale (from 1 August 2025): €61,463 to €77,666 (LSI) •
Contract: Specified Purpose • Wholetime
Working Pattern: Full-time, rostered hours in line with service needs
