The Health Service Executive (HSE) is recruiting a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) in Psycho Oncology to join its Mental Health and cancer support services in Limerick. This permanent wholetime post offers an opportunity to lead impactful psychological and emotional care for patients and families navigating cancer treatment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver specialist psycho-oncology nursing interventions to patients and carers
• Provide expert assessment, care planning and therapeutic support
• Act as an advanced clinical resource for multidisciplinary teams
• Lead on quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives
• Support service development aligned with national cancer care pathways
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to audit activity
• Deliver education, training and guidance to colleagues and students

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) with NMBI
• Minimum of 5 years post-registration experience, including relevant mental health or oncology exposure
• Postgraduate qualification in mental health, oncology, counselling, or related field (or commitment to undertake)
• Demonstrated competence in advanced assessment and therapeutic skills
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and team collaboration abilities
• Commitment to patient-centred care, professional development and clinical governance

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

Grade: Clinical Nurse Specialist (Mental Health) – Code 2625
Salary Scale (1 August 2025): €61,463–€77,666 with LSI
