Job Overview
The Clinical Skills Facilitator CNM 2 at Galway University Hospitals plays a key leadership role in advancing emergency nursing practice across the Acute Floor, Emergency Department Transit Area and Emergency Department Virtual Ward. This permanent wholetime opportunity offers experienced emergency nurses the chance to shape clinical excellence, education and professional development within a dynamic acute care environment.
Key Responsibilities
- • Lead and coordinate clinical skills training and development within emergency nursing services.
- • Support evidence-based practice and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- • Provide clinical supervision, mentorship and support to nursing staff.
- • Identify learning needs and develop targeted education programmes.
- • Promote patient safety, risk management and best practice standards.
- • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient care delivery.
- • Contribute to policy development and implementation within emergency services.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- • Registered General Nurse on the live register maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- • Significant experience in emergency nursing practice.
- • Demonstrated depth and breadth of clinical expertise relevant to the role.
- • Leadership and people management skills at CNM 2 level.
- • Strong communication, organisational and teaching abilities.
- • Commitment to continuous professional development and service improvement.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary Scale: €62,078 – €78,443 (inclusive of LSI), aligned to the Clinical Nurse Manager 2 (Grade 2119) public sector pay scale.
Contract Type: Permanent Wholetime
