An exciting leadership and development opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Skills Facilitator ICU (CNM II) at Portiuncula University Hospital, part of the Health Service Executive West and North West region.
This role is pivotal in advancing critical care education, clinical competency, and evidence-based practice within the Intensive Care Unit.


Key Responsibilities

• Lead, plan, and deliver clinical skills education and simulation for ICU nursing staff
• Support orientation, induction, and ongoing competency assessment
• Promote evidence-based practice and quality improvement initiatives
• Act as a clinical resource and mentor for ICU nurses
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes
• Support governance, audit, and clinical risk management processes
• Contribute to service development and staff professional development strategies


Required Skills & Qualifications

• Current registration with NMBI as a Registered Nurse
• Minimum of 5 years post-registration experience, including ICU/critical care
• Demonstrated leadership experience at CNM I or equivalent level
• Teaching, facilitation, or practice development experience desirable
• Strong communication, mentoring, and organisational skills
• Commitment to continuous professional development and clinical excellence


Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

Salary: In line with Clinical Nurse Manager II (Grade 2119) HSE pay scale
(€61,463 – €77,666 per annum, incl. LSIs, effective from Aug 2025)
