Job Overview

The Clinical Skills Facilitator Offaly role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced nurse to lead and support clinical education within an acute hospital setting. Based at Midlands Regional Hospital Tullamore, this permanent whole-time position is graded at Clinical Nurse Manager 2 level and plays a vital role in maintaining high standards of patient care through structured clinical teaching and mentorship.

This position is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants and is part of the HSE Dublin and Midlands region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide structured clinical education and skills facilitation to nursing staff within the acute setting.
  • Support and assess undergraduate and postgraduate nursing students in clinical practice.
  • Deliver teaching sessions aligned with best practice, policy, and evidence-based standards.
  • Promote clinical competence, professional development, and patient safety initiatives.
  • Act as a mentor and expert clinical resource for nursing teams.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and practice development programmes.
  • Contribute to clinical supervision and professional governance structures.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Registered General Nurse with active registration on the appropriate NMBI register.
  • Significant depth and breadth of experience in acute nursing practice.
  • Demonstrated experience in clinical teaching, student assessment, and staff facilitation.
  • Proven experience in clinical supervision and mentoring.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to promote evidence-based practice and professional development.

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

  • Grade: Clinical Nurse Manager 2 (Grade Code 2119).
  • Salary Scale (effective 1 February 2026): €62,078 – €78,443 (LSI applicable) in line with HSE consolidated pay scales.
