Job Overview

This Clinical Specialist Dietitian Galway role offers a unique opportunity to work within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) at the inpatient unit in Merlin Park. The position focuses on delivering specialist paediatric and mental health nutrition care, supporting young people with complex clinical needs. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist dietetic assessment and intervention within CAMHS inpatient services
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary mental health team
  • Develop and implement nutrition care plans for children and adolescents
  • Support patients with complex mental health and nutritional needs
  • Deliver education and guidance to families and healthcare professionals
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation
  • Participate in service development and quality improvement initiatives

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Recognised qualification in Dietetics with CORU registration
  • Significant experience in paediatrics or child and adolescent mental health services
  • Demonstrated specialist knowledge in clinical dietetics
  • Strong communication and multidisciplinary teamwork skills
  • Ability to manage complex caseloads independently
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

Salary Scale: €71,405 – €82,860 per annum

Specified Purpose Wholetime contract with standard HSE working hours. Benefits include public sector pension scheme, annual leave entitlement, and access to continuous professional development and training opportunities.

Location & Employer Information

This role is based in the CAMHS Inpatient Unit at Merlin Park, Galway, within HSE West and North West. The service provides specialist mental health care for children and adolescents across the region. A panel may be formed for future vacancies across Galway, Mayo, and Roscommon.
