Join Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, as a Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist supporting Emergency Department care and MSK presentations. This permanent, whole-time HSE role offers the opportunity to lead and advance an evolving ED physiotherapy service across Drogheda and Louth County Hospital.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the delivery of specialist physiotherapy services within the Emergency Department.
• Develop and implement high-quality, evidence-based assessment and treatment pathways.
• Provide expert clinical decision-making for complex presentations.
• Support and enhance MSK physiotherapy input at the Injury Unit in Louth County Hospital.
• Collaborate closely with Emergency Medicine Consultants and multidisciplinary teams.
• Contribute to service development, quality improvement, governance, and audit.
• Provide clinical supervision, mentorship, and education to physiotherapy staff and students.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• CORU registration as a Physiotherapist.
• At least five years’ clinical experience with significant expertise in musculoskeletal and/or emergency care.
• Demonstrated clinical leadership and advanced assessment skills.
• Proven ability to work autonomously within a high-pressure acute setting.
• Strong communication, team collaboration, and service-development capabilities.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice.

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

Grade: Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist (3707)
Salary scale (1 August 2025): €70,698–€82,040 per annum
Contract type: Permanent, whole-time

This post is based at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, with additional service responsibilities at Louth County Hospital’s Injury Unit. Both hospitals operate within the HSE Dublin and North East region.
