We’re seeking a dedicated Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist to join our Obesity & Overweight Management Service at Connolly Hospital in Dublin North. About the Role
As a Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist in our specialized Obesity & Overweight Management Service, you’ll provide expert physiotherapy interventions for patients managing weight-related health conditions. You’ll work as part of a multidisciplinary team at Connolly Hospital, delivering evidence-based treatments and contributing to innovative healthcare solutions for obesity and weight management.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive physiotherapy assessments for patients with obesity and weight-related conditions
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans using evidence-based physiotherapy interventions
- Provide specialized exercise prescription and lifestyle modification guidance for weight management
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members including dietitians, psychologists, and medical consultants
- Deliver patient education on movement, exercise, and physical activity for sustainable weight management
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to service quality improvement initiatives
- Participate in clinical audits, research activities, and continuing professional development programs
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Physiotherapy degree recognized by CORU (Health and Social Care Professionals Council)
- Current registration with CORU as a Physiotherapist
- Minimum 5 years post-graduate clinical experience in physiotherapy
- Demonstrated experience in obesity management, metabolic health, or related specialty areas
- Knowledge of exercise prescription for complex medical conditions
Preferred Qualifications
- Postgraduate qualification in obesity management, exercise therapy, or related field
- Experience working within HSE or public healthcare setting
- Training in motivational interviewing or behavior change techniques
- Research experience in physiotherapy or obesity management
- Leadership or mentoring experience
