Mayo University Hospital is seeking a committed Clinical Nurse Manager 1 (CNM1) to join its Medical Directorate team. This is a specified-purpose, wholetime contract offering an excellent opportunity to develop leadership skills within a busy acute medicine environment. The role is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide day-to-day clinical leadership within the acute medicine speciality
• Ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and evidence-based patient care
• Supervise nursing staff, including delegation, guidance, and performance support
• Coordinate patient flow and multidisciplinary communication
• Assist in quality improvement initiatives and policy implementation
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with HSE standards
• Promote a culture of patient safety, dignity, and respect
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registered General Nurse (RGN) with NMBI
• Demonstrated depth and breadth of experience in acute medicine (essential)
• Strong clinical decision-making and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication, leadership, and team-coordination skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced acute hospital setting
• Commitment to continuous professional development
• Knowledge of HSE policies, procedures, and quality standards
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary (CNM1 Scale effective 1 August 2025): €56,642–€66,705 per annum
