Job Overview

The CNM3 Lead – Infection Prevention and Control role with Children’s Health Ireland offers an exciting leadership opportunity within a specialist paediatric healthcare setting in Dublin South. This senior nursing position plays a critical role in safeguarding patient safety, enhancing infection prevention standards, and driving best practice across clinical services.

This is a specified purpose, part-time contract ideal for an experienced Clinical Nurse Manager 3 seeking to make a meaningful impact in infection prevention and control within a nationally significant healthcare organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • • Lead and oversee infection prevention and control strategies across clinical departments
  • • Develop, implement and monitor infection control policies and procedures
  • • Provide expert guidance and education to clinical and non-clinical staff
  • • Conduct surveillance, audits, and risk assessments related to infection control
  • • Investigate and manage outbreaks in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
  • • Ensure compliance with national standards, guidelines, and regulatory requirements
  • • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and service development
  • • Prepare reports and present findings to senior management

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • • Registered General Nurse on the active register maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
  • • Significant post-registration clinical experience, including leadership experience at CNM level
  • • Recognised qualification or postgraduate training in Infection Prevention and Control
  • • Strong knowledge of infection surveillance systems and audit processes
  • • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • • Proven ability to influence practice and implement change
  • • Commitment to continuous professional development

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

Salary Scale: €71,432 – €80,671 per annum (aligned with Clinical Nurse Manager 3 233X scale).

This is a specified purpose, part-time contract. Working hours will be agreed in line with service requirements.
