This senior post offers an opportunity to shape specialist cardiology services in a busy acute hospital serving Limerick, Clare and North Tipperary.
Table of Contents
Key Responsibilities
• Provide comprehensive cardiology care including diagnosis, treatment and ongoing management of cardiac patients
• Deliver evidence-based clinical practice aligned with national and hospital guidelines
• Participate in cardiology on-call duties and multidisciplinary team meetings
• Contribute to clinical governance, service development and quality improvement initiatives
• Supervise and mentor NCHDs, medical students and other clinical staff
• Engage in audit, research and continuing professional development
• Work collaboratively with allied health professionals and regional cardiology networks
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registration as a specialist in the Specialist Division of the Medical Council Register in the specialty of Cardiology
• Extensive clinical experience in acute and interventional or non-interventional cardiology
• Demonstrated ability to lead clinical teams in a complex hospital environment
• Strong communication, decision-making and multidisciplinary collaboration skills
• Commitment to training, teaching, audit and continuous professional development
