This senior consultant role offers the chance to provide expert clinical leadership in microbiology while contributing to high-quality patient care, infection prevention, and antimicrobial stewardship services.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide consultant-level clinical microbiology services to University Hospital Limerick
• Lead and support infection prevention and control programmes
• Advise on antimicrobial stewardship and complex infection management
• Contribute to diagnostic microbiology services and clinical governance
• Participate in multidisciplinary clinical teams across the hospital
• Support teaching, training, and audit activities
• Contribute to service development within the HSE Mid West region
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registration as a Specialist in Microbiology on the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council of Ireland
• Proven consultant-level expertise in clinical microbiology
• Strong leadership and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication and multidisciplinary collaboration abilities
• Eligibility to work in Ireland
