The Health Service Executive (HSE) is recruiting a Consultant Neurologist for Older Persons Services Donegal (37 hours per week). This permanent, whole-time specialist post offers the opportunity to lead neurological care pathways for older adults across the region. Both HSE and non-HSE applicants are welcome to apply.

Key Responsibilities
• Deliver specialist neurological assessment, diagnosis and management for older adults
• Provide leadership within multidisciplinary teams across Older Persons Services
• Support development of integrated care pathways in line with national models of care
• Contribute to quality improvement, service planning and clinical governance activities
• Participate in relevant on-call duties in accordance with contract and service needs
• Engage in teaching, supervision and continuing professional development
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registered (or eligible for registration) on the Specialist Division – Neurology, Medical Council of Ireland
• Experience delivering consultant-level neurological care within acute/older persons settings
• Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex case presentations
• Strong communication, clinical governance, and decision-making skills
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and contribution to service innovation
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary:
Under the Consultant Contract 2023, Consultant salary points (1 August 2025) typically range approximately €203,358 – €270,178+ per annum, depending on point of scale and contract type.
