The Health Service Executive (HSE) is seeking a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join the Midlands Mental Health Services, providing specialist care across Longford and Westmeath. This permanent, whole-time post offers an opportunity to lead multidisciplinary CAMHS services in a dynamic clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive psychiatric assessment, diagnosis and treatment for children and adolescents
• Provide clinical leadership to the CAMHS multidisciplinary team
• Oversee risk assessment, care planning and therapeutic interventions
• Contribute to service development, governance, audit and quality initiatives
• Participate in case conferences, MDT meetings and interagency collaboration
• Fulfil on-call and rota obligations in line with HSE Consultant requirements
• Engage in teaching, training and supervision of NCHDs and other healthcare staff

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Registration on the Specialist Division of the Irish Medical Council in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
• Extensive experience in CAMHS, including acute, community and multidisciplinary settings
• Strong leadership, communication and clinical decision-making abilities
• Commitment to continuous professional development and service improvement
• Eligibility to work in Ireland and fulfil consultant contractual requirements

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

• Salary aligned with the standard HSE Consultant Psychiatrist scale (defaulting to the standard “Psychiatry – Consultant” scale in the consolidated Consultant pay framework).
• Permanent, whole-time: 37 hours per week
• Public sector pension, annual leave and CME entitlements per HSE Consultant contract
• Access to allowances where applicable under national agreements
