This senior post plays a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, recovery-oriented mental health care across Limerick, Clare, and North Tipperary. The position is offered on a specified purpose basis, with both part-time and whole-time options available.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide consultant-led psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment
• Deliver clinical leadership within multidisciplinary community mental health teams
• Participate in service development, governance, and quality improvement initiatives
• Supervise and mentor NCHDs and other clinical staff
• Ensure compliance with Mental Health Act requirements and HSE policies
• Contribute to on-call and emergency psychiatric services as required
• Engage in audit, teaching, and continuous professional development
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Specialist registration with the Irish Medical Council in Psychiatry (General Adult)
• Proven experience at consultant or senior specialist level
• Strong leadership and multidisciplinary team-working skills
• Eligibility to work in Ireland without restriction
• Excellent clinical judgement and communication skills
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Salary: In line with Consultant General Adult Psychiatrist (Grade 143Y) HSE salary scale
• Contract Type: Specified Purpose – Part-time or Wholetime
