This permanent Consultant General Adult Psychiatrist (S.I. Rehabilitation) post offers an exceptional opportunity to lead and develop rehabilitation services across the Laois/Offaly Mental Health Service. Working within the Health Service Executive (HSE), you will provide expert clinical leadership across a 37-hour week.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead clinical decision-making for adult rehabilitation psychiatry services
• Deliver high-quality assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery-focused care
• Provide multidisciplinary team leadership and clinical governance oversight
• Contribute to service planning, quality improvement, and policy development
• Participate in on-call rota as required under the Consultant Contract
• Engage with stakeholders, families, and community partners to support service integration
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Full registration (or eligibility) with the Irish Medical Council – Specialist Division (Psychiatry)
• Completed higher specialist training (or equivalent) in General Adult Psychiatry
• Experience in rehabilitation psychiatry strongly preferred
• Demonstrated leadership, communication, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills
• Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous service improvement
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Salary: Consultant Psychiatrist (143Y) scale, payable in line with the current HSE Consultant Contract (2023).
• Contract: Permanent, wholetime
• Hours: 37 hours per week
