An excellent senior leadership opportunity has arisen for a Dental Surgeon – Senior Administrative within Sligo and Leitrim Dental Services. This role combines advanced clinical expertise with strategic management responsibility, contributing to the delivery and governance of high-quality public dental services across the region.

This campaign will fill one whole-time vacancy and may form a panel for future full-time or part-time appointments.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide senior clinical leadership within public dental services
• Manage and support dental teams across Sligo and Leitrim
• Contribute to service planning, development, and evaluation
• Ensure compliance with HSE governance, quality, and safety standards
• Oversee clinical performance and continuous quality improvement
• Support workforce planning, mentoring, and professional development
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary and regional management teams
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Eligible for registration with the Irish Dental Council
• Extensive post-qualification experience in public health or hospital dentistry
• Demonstrated depth and breadth of experience in healthcare management
• Proven leadership and service development capability
• Strong governance, audit, and quality improvement skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Grade: Dental Surgeon – Senior Administrative (1619)
• Salary Scale (1 Aug 2025): €96,062 – €122,647 per annum (LSIs apply)
• Pensionable public service salary in line with HSE consolidated pay scales
• Annual leave and public sector pension scheme
• Contract options:
• Permanent Wholetime / Part-time
• Specified Purpose Wholetime / Part-time
Salary details are in accordance with Department of Health Consolidated Salary Scales.
