Job Overview
Atlantic Technological University (ATU) is seeking an accomplished senior academic leader to take up the role of Director of Academic Affairs and Quality. Reporting directly to the Registrar and Chief Academic Officer (R&CAO), this role plays a pivotal part in shaping academic policy, quality assurance, and the overall student experience across the University. The postholder will provide strategic leadership to ensure academic excellence, regulatory compliance, and continuous enhancement of academic programmes.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and manage the Academic Affairs and Quality Office across all ATU campuses
• Oversee admissions, registration, examinations, conferring, and academic timetabling
• Drive academic planning, reporting, and academic systems development
• Lead quality assurance, academic policy, and regulatory affairs
• Manage programme planning, accreditation, and academic recognition processes
• Ensure compliance with national and international quality standards
• Collaborate closely with Deans of Faculty and senior leadership teams
• Lead key strategic and integration projects to enhance the student journey and outcomes
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Significant senior leadership experience within higher education or a comparable academic environment
• Extensive knowledge of academic governance, quality assurance, and regulatory frameworks
• Proven experience in academic programme planning and accreditation
• Strong strategic, analytical, and organisational skills
• Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams across complex organisations
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Salary: Senior public sector academic management scale, commensurate with experience
• Contract: Full-time, permanent appointment
