Job Overview

An exciting senior leadership opportunity has arisen for a Director of Nursing 2 (Assistant) within acute services at Kilcreene Regional Orthopaedic Hospital. This role plays a critical part in clinical governance, service development, and the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred orthopaedic care.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Director of Nursing in strategic and operational leadership
• Lead and manage nursing and midwifery teams within acute services
• Ensure compliance with HSE policies, clinical governance, and quality standards
• Drive service improvement, patient safety, and staff development initiatives
• Manage workforce planning, performance, and professional practice
• Contribute to hospital-wide planning and multidisciplinary collaboration

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Registration as a Nurse or Midwife on the NMBI register
• Significant post-registration clinical and management experience
• Proven leadership experience at senior nursing management level
• Demonstrated knowledge of acute hospital services and governance
• Strong communication, organisational, and decision-making skills
• Eligibility to work in Ireland

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

Salary Scale: €67,815 – €81,203 per annum (Assistant Director of Nursing – Non Band 1 Hospitals, effective 1 August 2025)
• Permanent whole-time HSE contract
