St Mary’s Hospital in Phoenix Park is seeking a dedicated Driver (Patients/Clients Public Roads) to support safe and reliable transport services across the Integrated Health Areas of Dublin North County and Dublin North City & West. This permanent whole-time HSE role offers a meaningful opportunity to contribute to high-quality community care.
Table of Contents
Key Responsibilities
• Transport patients and clients safely across public roads within assigned routes
• Ensure vehicles are operated in line with HSE safety standards and road regulations
• Support patient comfort, dignity, and mobility during journeys
• Conduct routine checks on vehicles and report any maintenance needs
• Maintain accurate records of journeys, schedules, and service logs
• Collaborate with the wider Transport Department and Community Services teams
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Full, clean driving licence appropriate for the vehicle category
• Strong knowledge of road safety and public road driving
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to support vulnerable individuals with empathy and professionalism
• Reliability, punctuality, and strong organisational skills
• Previous experience in patient/client transport is an advantage
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Grade: Driver (Patients/Clients Public Roads) 6132
• Contract: Permanent, whole-time
• Hours: Full-time rostered hours, Monday–Sunday as required
• Salary: HSE consolidated pay scales apply (1 August 2025 rates)
