The Office of Public Works (OPW) is recruiting Engineer Grade III (Civil) professionals to strengthen its national flood risk management programme. Key Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of OPW flood risk management projects
• Contribute to engineering assessments, design work, and capital programme activities
• Assist in technical analysis of flood relief schemes and coastal change risks
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across regional OPW offices
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, environmental, and safety standards
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders to support project delivery
• Provide technical reporting and engineering documentation as required
• Undertake duties outlined in the official Candidate Information Booklet

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
• Eligibility requirements as detailed in the Candidate Information Booklet
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project coordination abilities
• Knowledge of flood risk management or civil infrastructure advantageous
• Excellent communication and technical reporting skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
• Full clean driving licence may be required for regional travel

Location & Employer Information

The initial vacancy is based in Trim, Co. Meath. A panel will also be formed to fill future roles in OPW Flood Risk Management Services offices across: Cork, Donegal, Dublin, Galway, Kilkenny, Limerick, Louth, Mayo, Meath, Sligo, Westmeath, and Wexford.
