Brothers of Charity Services Ireland is seeking a highly skilled Financial Accountant (Grade VII) to join its finance team in Limerick. This permanent, whole-time post offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to lead financial operations within a major Section 38 organisation.
This role is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants.
Table of Contents
Key Responsibilities
• Manage the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports
• Oversee budget management, forecasting and financial planning processes
• Ensure compliance with statutory, audit and regulatory requirements
• Support financial governance, internal controls and risk management
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll inputs
• Liaise with internal and external auditors as required
• Provide financial leadership to support service delivery and operational teams
• Contribute to continual process improvement across finance functions
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Minimum 3–5 years’ post-qualification experience in financial accounting or similar role
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and public sector/Section 38 compliance
• Excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills
• Proven ability to manage deadlines and deliver high-quality financial outputs
• Experience working within healthcare, public sector or not-for-profit environments is an advantage
• Proficiency with financial systems and advanced Excel skills
