The HSE Dublin and South East region is seeking a strategic and forward-thinking General Manager Data, Digital Innovation & AI to lead digital transformation and data-driven innovation initiatives across the region. This senior leadership role will drive modernisation, digital integration, and the responsible adoption of artificial intelligence solutions to enhance healthcare delivery.
This is a permanent whole-time opportunity offering significant regional impact across Dublin, Wicklow, Carlow, Kilkenny, South Tipperary, Waterford, and Wexford.
Key Responsibilities
- • Lead the regional strategy for data governance, digital transformation, and AI innovation.
- • Oversee implementation of digital health systems and transformation programmes.
- • Provide strategic ICT leadership across multiple hospital and corporate sites.
- • Ensure compliance with national HSE digital and cybersecurity frameworks.
- • Collaborate with senior clinical and operational leaders across the DSE region.
- • Drive continuous improvement through data analytics and performance insights.
- • Manage budgets, workforce planning, and stakeholder engagement.
- • Represent the region at national HSE forums and digital strategy initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- • Senior leadership experience in digital transformation, ICT, or data governance.
- • Proven experience delivering complex programmes in large organisations.
- • Strong knowledge of healthcare systems, digital innovation, and AI applications.
- • Strategic planning and stakeholder management expertise.
- • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- • Access to appropriate transport as travel across the region is required.
- • Flexibility to attend regional and national meetings as required.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary Scale: €86,604 – €107,727 per annum (General Manager 0041 scale).
This is a permanent whole-time role. A flexible approach to working hours is required to meet operational deadlines and regional commitments.

Location & Employer Information
This role is within HSE Dublin and South East. The successful candidate will be based at one of the main Regional Technology & Transformation sites:
- • Iveagh Building, Carrickmines Park, Carrickmines, Dublin, D18 X015
- • Lacken, Dublin Road, Kilkenny
If based in Kilkenny, regular travel to the Dublin office will be required. The post holder will support services across South Dublin, Wicklow, Carlow, Kilkenny, South Tipperary, Waterford, and Wexford.
