An excellent opportunity has arisen for a General Practitioner – Homeless Services Social Inclusion to join the HSE South West team based at St. Finbarr’s Hospital Cork. This permanent, whole-time role focuses on delivering high-quality, patient-centred primary care to vulnerable populations experiencing homelessness, within a multidisciplinary social inclusion framework.
This General Practitioner Homeless Services Cork role offers meaningful clinical work, strong professional support, and the opportunity to make a tangible impact on community health outcomes.
📋 Key Responsibilities
• Provide comprehensive GP medical services to individuals experiencing homelessness
• Deliver person-centred, trauma-informed care within a social inclusion model
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams including nursing, social work, and addiction services
• Manage acute and chronic medical conditions in a community-based setting
• Support harm reduction, health promotion, and preventative care initiatives
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with HSE policies
• Participate in service development and quality improvement initiatives
🎓 Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registration on the General Practitioner Division of the Medical Council of Ireland
• Evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
• Experience or strong interest in homeless health, addiction medicine, or social inclusion (desirable)
• Excellent clinical judgement and patient communication skills
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• Eligibility to work in Ireland
