Job Overview
This Grade IV Assistant Staff Officer role within Quality and Patient Safety offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to healthcare service improvement across the HSE South West region. Based in Cork, the successful candidate will support key administrative and operational functions that enhance patient safety and quality standards.
This is a permanent, full-time position suited to candidates with strong organisational and communication skills who are interested in making a meaningful impact within a healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the Quality & Patient Safety team
- Assist in the coordination and implementation of quality improvement initiatives
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation
- Support data collection, analysis, and reporting activities
- Liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders as required
- Assist in organising meetings, preparing agendas, and recording minutes
- Ensure compliance with HSE policies and procedures
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Previous administrative experience, ideally within a healthcare setting
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general IT systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Commitment to quality improvement and patient safety principles
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
The salary scale for this position ranges from €36,109 to €55,463 (including Long Service Increments where applicable), in line with HSE Grade IV pay scales.
