The Grade V Data Manager Galway role at Galway University Hospitals offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced data professional to join a leading acute hospital environment within HSE West and North West. This permanent wholetime position plays a key role in supporting clinical and operational services through high-quality data management, reporting, and analysis.
The successful candidate will contribute to the effective use of healthcare data, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and timely reporting to support service delivery and strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, maintain, and validate healthcare datasets to ensure accuracy and integrity.
- Develop and generate reports to support operational and clinical decision-making.
- Support performance monitoring and data-driven service improvements.
- Work collaboratively with clinical, administrative, and ICT teams.
- Maintain data governance standards and ensure compliance with relevant policies.
- Utilise business intelligence tools to present actionable insights.
- Support ongoing development and optimisation of data systems.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Demonstrated depth and breadth of data management experience relevant to the role.
- Proficiency with databases (e.g. SQL or equivalent).
- Experience with business intelligence/reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar (desirable).
- Experience working with clinical information systems or health data (desirable).
- Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy healthcare environment.
