Wexford General Hospital is seeking an experienced Grade VII Finance Officer to support the delivery of high-quality financial governance and operational management within a busy acute care setting. This permanent wholetime position offers an excellent opportunity for progression within the Health Service Executive.
Table of Contents
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and manage finance functions across the hospital’s operational areas
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes
• Support senior management with financial analysis and strategic decision-making
• Ensure compliance with HSE financial policies, procedures, and audit requirements
• Contribute to service planning, cost improvement initiatives, and performance monitoring
• Supervise and support administrative and finance staff
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective financial coordination
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Eligibility restricted to existing staff of the HSE, TUSLA, Section 38 agencies, or statutory health agencies per WRC Agreement 161867
• Demonstrated experience in finance, audit, budgeting, or related administrative roles
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present complex financial data
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational abilities
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic healthcare environment
• Familiarity with HSE financial systems and protocols is an advantage
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Grade VII (0582) Consolidated Salary Scale – effective 1 August 2025: • €60,013 – €78,015 (including LSIs)
• Permanent, wholetime contract
