Job Overview
The Grounds Manager Dublin role offers an excellent opportunity to lead and manage the grounds and external environment at Our Lady’s Hospice & Care Services in Harold’s Cross. This permanent wholetime position sits at Maintenance Foreman Grade 5061 and plays a key part in maintaining safe, dignified, and welcoming surroundings for patients, families, visitors, and staff.
This position is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants. While advertised by the HSE, this is a Section 38 role with Our Lady’s Hospice & Care Services and is not a direct HSE contract.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the grounds maintenance team across the Harold’s Cross campus.
- Plan, organise and oversee landscaping, gardening, and seasonal maintenance activities.
- Ensure all external areas are maintained to a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and presentation.
- Manage grounds-related contractors and monitor service quality and compliance.
- Oversee equipment maintenance, storage, and safe operation.
- Implement health and safety procedures in line with organisational policies.
- Assist in budget management and procurement of materials and supplies.
- Respond to weather-related or emergency grounds issues as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Relevant qualification or significant experience in horticulture, landscaping, or grounds management.
- Demonstrated experience supervising or leading a maintenance or grounds team.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety standards applicable to grounds and maintenance services.
- Ability to manage schedules, prioritise tasks, and coordinate contractors.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Full, clean driving licence (desirable).
- Eligibility to work in Ireland.

- Salary aligned with Maintenance Foreman Grade 5061 under applicable public sector pay scales.

Our Lady’s Hospice & Care Services is a publicly funded organisation providing specialist palliative and supportive care services. Although this role is advertised by the HSE, employment is with Our Lady’s Hospice & Care Services under Section 38 arrangements, and terms and conditions may differ from direct HSE employment.
