The Health Service Executive (HSE) is recruiting Health Care Assistants for permanent wholetime positions at Mayo University Hospital. This role is ideal for individuals with hands-on experience delivering compassionate, patient-focused care in a hospital or healthcare setting. Successful candidates will join a multidisciplinary team providing essential support to service users across the HSE West and North West region.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide direct patient care, including assistance with daily living activities.
• Support nursing and clinical teams in delivering high-quality care.
• Monitor and report changes in patients’ conditions to senior staff.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment for patients.
• Assist with patient mobility, transfers, and comfort measures.
• Adhere to all HSE policies, protocols, and infection-prevention standards.
• Contribute to the overall wellbeing and dignity of patients in your care.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Demonstrated experience in a healthcare setting (hospital, community, residential, or nursing home).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Reliable, compassionate, and committed to delivering high-quality care.
• Knowledge of patient safety, manual handling, and infection control principles.
• Flexibility to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.
