The Healthcare Assistant Sligo (Reference: SLIGO0656) is a permanent wholetime opportunity within HSE West and North West. This role offers the chance to deliver high-quality, compassionate care to patients in a busy healthcare setting in County Sligo.
As a Healthcare Assistant, you will support nursing and clinical staff in providing direct patient care, contributing to a safe, respectful, and person-centred environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct care and support to patients in hospital, residential, community or nursing home settings
- Assist patients with personal care needs including hygiene, mobility and nutrition
- Support nursing staff in the delivery of clinical and non-clinical duties
- Maintain accurate records in line with HSE standards and policies
- Ensure a clean, safe and comfortable environment for patients
- Communicate effectively with patients, families and multidisciplinary teams
- Adhere to infection prevention and control procedures at all times
- Promote dignity, respect and confidentiality in all interactions
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Relevant Healthcare Assistant qualification (QQI Level 5 or equivalent)
- Demonstrated depth and breadth of experience in a healthcare setting (hospital, residential, community or nursing home)
- Experience providing direct patient care
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to delivering high standards of patient-centred care
