Wexford General Hospital is recruiting a Housekeeping Assistant to join its busy General Support team. This permanent, wholetime position plays a key role in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment for patients, staff and visitors. Applicants from both HSE and non-HSE backgrounds are welcome.
Table of Contents
Key Responsibilities
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness across wards, corridors, public areas and clinical spaces
• Follow infection prevention and control procedures at all times
• Safely use cleaning equipment and materials according to training and protocols
• Restock supplies and report maintenance or safety issues promptly
• Work collaboratively with the Housekeeping Supervisor and wider hospital team
• Ensure all tasks meet HSE hygiene regulations and internal quality standards
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Experience working in a healthcare or hospitality setting within the last 2 years
• Strong understanding of hygiene standards and infection control principles
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospital environment
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Reliable, adaptable and patient-focused
