Atlantic Technological University (ATU) is seeking a Lecturer in Ecology and Environmental Science to teach across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Sligo. This dynamic role involves classroom, laboratory, and field-based teaching, along with curriculum innovation and research supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality lectures in Ecology, Biodiversity, Environmental Monitoring, Climate Change and Sustainability Reporting
• Supervise laboratory and field practical sessions
• Contribute to curriculum development across full-time and online programmes
• Support and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects
• Participate in the development of new modules and academic offerings
• Engage in assessment, grading, and academic administration as required

Required Skills & Qualifications

• A relevant postgraduate qualification (PhD desirable) in Ecology, Environmental Science or a related field
• Experience teaching at third-level, including practical and field-based instruction
• Strong knowledge of environmental monitoring, biodiversity, sustainability, and climate reporting
• Proven ability to design and deliver high-quality curriculum content
• Research experience and a record of academic publication (an advantage)
• Strong communication, organisational, and team-working skills

• Salary: In line with approved public sector lecturer pay scales
