Job Overview
The Maintenance Foreman Carlow role offers an excellent opportunity to lead maintenance operations within a large and complex healthcare environment. Based in Carlow as part of HSE Dublin & South East, this permanent whole-time position is responsible for supervising maintenance staff and contractors while ensuring buildings and associated plant systems operate safely and efficiently.
This role is vital in maintaining high-quality healthcare facilities that support patient care and frontline services.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise maintenance staff and external contractors across assigned facilities
- Oversee maintenance of large-scale and complex buildings and associated plant
- Coordinate construction and refurbishment works as required
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and safe working practices
- Monitor preventative and reactive maintenance programmes
- Maintain accurate records and reports relating to maintenance activities
- Support service delivery through effective planning and resource management
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Demonstrated depth and breadth of supervisory experience relevant to the role
- Experience in maintenance of large-scale and complex buildings and associated plant
- Experience in construction and maintenance of complex buildings
- Minimum of two years’ experience supervising staff and contractors
- SOLAS Safe Pass Health & Safety Awareness Training Programme completed or willingness to undertake training upon appointment
- Full, unendorsed Category B Driver’s Licence (as the role may involve driving HSE vehicles)

This position is based in Carlow within the HSE Dublin & South East region, which covers Carlow, Kilkenny, South Tipperary, Waterford and Wexford. There is currently one permanent whole-time vacancy available.
