Job Overview
Connolly Hospital is seeking a qualified and experienced Plumber Fitter (Grade 5134) to join its Estates team on a permanent wholetime basis. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the safe and efficient operation of a busy acute hospital environment within the HSE Dublin and North East region.
The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining plumbing and mechanical services across the hospital campus, ensuring compliance with safety standards and supporting the delivery of high-quality healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out installation, maintenance and repair of plumbing and mechanical systems throughout the hospital.
- Respond promptly to breakdowns and emergency call-outs.
- Perform preventative maintenance in line with scheduled programmes.
- Ensure all works are completed in compliance with HSE policies and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
- Support minor capital works and refurbishment projects as required.
- Assist in ensuring continuous operation of water systems, heating systems and associated plant.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Recognised trade qualification as a Plumber/Fitter.
- Relevant post-qualification experience in plumbing and mechanical maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Good problem-solving and communication skills.
- Full unendorsed Drivers Licence (Category B) is required, as the role may involve driving HSE-owned vehicles.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary Scale: €42,065 – €48,369 per annum (incremental scale applicable).
This is a permanent wholetime position offering job security, public sector benefits, and access to HSE pension schemes. Annual leave entitlements and public sector terms and conditions apply.
