An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Registrar in General Adult Psychiatry to join North Cork Mental Health Services within the Health Service Executive (HSE) South West region. This role offers high-quality clinical exposure within a multidisciplinary mental health team serving adult populations across North Cork.

This post is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants and provides valuable experience within a well-established community mental health service.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver high-quality psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for adult service users
• Work collaboratively with Consultant Psychiatrists and multidisciplinary team members
• Participate in clinical decision-making, care planning, and risk management
• Contribute to inpatient and community-based mental health services
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with HSE standards
• Engage in audit, teaching, and continuous professional development
• Participate in on-call and rota duties as required
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Medical degree recognised by the Medical Council of Ireland
• Registration (or eligibility for registration) with the Medical Council of Ireland
• Experience or training in General Adult Psychiatry
• Strong clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• Commitment to ethical practice and patient-centred care
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Salary: In line with HSE Registrar (Grade 1538) payscales (€68,891 – €81,126 per annum, depending on experience)
