Wexford General Hospital is seeking a motivated Registrar in Medicine to join its acute medical team. This HSE role offers excellent clinical exposure across diverse specialties and provides strong career development for doctors seeking progression. The position is a Specified Purpose, Wholetime contract based in Wexford.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality inpatient and outpatient medical care
• Participate in ward rounds, MDT meetings, and clinical decision-making
• Manage acute admissions, diagnostics, and treatment plans
• Supervise and support SHO and Intern colleagues
• Participate in the on-call rota as required
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to HSE protocols
• Contribute to audit, quality improvement and teaching activities

Required Skills & Qualifications

Degree in Medicine (essential)
Full IMC Registration (required)
IELTS/OET meeting IMC standards if applicable
• Clinical experience in Irish/UK hospital settings only
• Strong diagnostic, communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced acute environment

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

Salary (Registrar – NCHD 1530/1538 Scale, effective 1 Aug 2025): €68,891 – €81,126 per annum
Contract: Specified Purpose, Wholetime
On-call allowances payable per HSE NCHD contract
