Job Overview
This Registrar in Respiratory Medicine role at Connolly Hospital offers an excellent opportunity to develop advanced clinical expertise within a dynamic acute hospital setting. Starting in July 2026, the position supports both inpatient and outpatient respiratory services while contributing to high-quality patient care across the region.
This role is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants and provides valuable experience within a leading Dublin hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality care to patients with respiratory conditions
- Participate in inpatient and outpatient respiratory services
- Support consultant-led teams in diagnosis and treatment planning
- Contribute to ward rounds, clinics, and multidisciplinary meetings
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Participate in on-call rota and emergency care as required
- Engage in teaching, audit, and continuous professional development
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registration with the Irish Medical Council (or eligibility)
- Relevant experience in Respiratory Medicine or General Medicine
- Strong clinical and diagnostic skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Commitment to high standards of patient care
- Previous hospital-based experience in Ireland is desirable
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
The salary scale for this position ranges from €69,580 to €81,937 per annum, depending on experience and point on the HSE Registrar salary scale.
This is a fixed-term wholetime position with standard HSE working hours, including participation in an on-call rota. Benefits include public sector pension, annual leave entitlements, and ongoing training and development opportunities.
