The Health Service Executive (HSE) is seeking a Senior Pharmacist (Antimicrobial) to join the Quality, Risk and Safety team across Galway, Mayo and Roscommon. This permanent part-time role supports antimicrobial stewardship and quality improvement within community services. Candidates should demonstrate significant expertise in antimicrobial pharmacy and leadership in optimising antimicrobial use.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead antimicrobial stewardship initiatives across assigned community locations
• Support Quality, Risk and Safety functions in antimicrobial-related service improvements
• Provide specialist clinical pharmacy guidance to multidisciplinary teams
• Develop, implement and evaluate antimicrobial usage improvement plans
• Contribute to audit, monitoring and reporting activities
• Act as a professional resource for antimicrobial best practice across the region
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Eligible qualification in Pharmacy and current professional registration
• Depth and breadth of experience in antimicrobial pharmacy
• Proven leadership in improving antimicrobial use
• Strong communication and collaborative skills
• Experience working in multidisciplinary environments
• Commitment to quality, safety and evidence-based practice
